I recently had the opportunity to have a conversation with Dee Ann Turner. Dee Ann is a Communicator, Consultant and Coach and began her own consulting company after serving 33 years at Chick-fil-A, Inc.
An early architect and advocate for Chick-fil-A’s well-known culture and talent systems, she was Chick-fil-A’s first female officer. Dee Ann served as the Vice President, Talent/Human Resources, for nearly 20 years. We talk about the selection process for franchisees and how Chick-Fil-A has achieved such great success around choosing the right people to operate their restaurants.
Her first book, It’s My Pleasure: The Impact of Extraordinary Talent and a Compelling Culture, reveals the lessons she learned and taught during her long tenure at Chick-fil-A as the company grew their revenue from millions to billions.
Dee Ann believes talent offers competitive advantage in any organization. Companies that recognize the value of extraordinary talent can succeed not just ethically, but financially as well.
Her second book, Bet on Talent: How to Create a Remarkable Culture and Win the Hearts of Customers was released in September, 2019 and is available now wherever you buy books and through her website, DeeAnnTurner.com.
We had a great conversation on so many topics around talent management and culture building and we even tackled the tough topic of ghosting employers and potential employees.
Dee Ann was so gracious in offering her perspective on her history with Chick-Fil-A and how the impact of talent creates a compelling culture.
